Coming Up in August

The Sweetest Girl In Town

Clean, wholesome, amusing musical comedy has always been a source of delight to theatre goers. With this thought in mind, the Smiths Falls Community Theatre has selected “The Sweetest Girl in Town” for their summer offering.

The cast rehearses one of the many musical numbers from "The Sweetest Girl In Town"
set to open Thursday August 11 at 8:00 pm

Charles George, author and composer of “My China Doll” & “Rosalie Runs Riot”, which perhaps only a few may remember, also wrote another delightful musical for the times, “The Sweetest Girl in Town”. Written in 1935 it is delightfully humorous both in plot and characterization and is interspersed with fun songs and music written especially for this play. Some of the songs are The Sweetest Girl in Town, Since I Listened to My Radio, He’s My Pal, That Man is Hard to Find and A Thousand Years from Now. The play fairly sizzles with wit and humour and the situations are excruciatingly funny.

Starring Amy Thomlinson as Jackie Sweet, Ray Billiald as Harry Hart, Annette Hutton as Mrs. Lyon Hart, Hugh McCulloch as Mr. Lyon Hart, Kayley Kennedy as Ida Downe, Nelson McCulloch as Willie Love, Matt Baker as Gladden Gay, Rowan McCulloch as Truly Hunting, Nancy Keech as Mrs. Lotta Doe & Peter Hewitt as Dr. Quack, Ashley Haining as Ima Lightfoot, Tim Basaillon as Noah Lott plus many others of your friends and neighbours in the large cast.
